"I tested the Hultafors HVK Hi Carbon Knife that you sent me along with a Mora Clipper. I used them "side by side" in the bush while cutting 1" - 2" dia. poplar saplings to make tent pegs, both preformed terrific. The scandi edges had no trouble powering through the saplings when bent-over under side tension and the fashioning of points and notches was smooth and easy. Being equal to a Mora is not small praise, I think I actually preferred the comfort of the handle on the Hultafors a little over the Clipper, but I would have to work with it longer to be sure? I later used the Hultafors to fully process a large bull moose, I was alone and even with the use of a "Come-along" this was a big job that took hours. I had to sharpen the blade a few times, but with the carbon scandi edge on a diamond sharpener it was quick and effective. The orange synthetic handle is easy to find in the bush, especially around a dark killsite and the knife/sheath clean-up well. I would call this my "Work Knife", I keep it in my truck and use it to do nasty jobs in often messy conditions; it is not fancy or high-tech, it just does the job, effectively."
