Condor Norse Dragon Seax.

If you are of Anglo Saxon heritage, you may wonder what the 'Saxon' part stood for?. The People of the Seax (or Saxons) were an ancient Germanic tribe, one of the migration tribes that later peopled England. Very many Canadians carry their blood in their veins and thus had ancestors who used the Seax.

These peoples were so intimately linked to the use of the Seax (or Knife) that it became a frame of reference to them, and eventually became their actual tribal name.

The Seax was an all purpose tool, carried for a wide variety of uses and many of the surviving origionals had the classic 'Broken back', that is to say the swiftly plunging angle to the tip.

Seax's were no doubt a symbol of manhood and staus as well as an everyday tool, vital for the physical hands-on tasks of the Anglo-Saxon period. Although largely associated with the Anglo Saxons, the Seax was also carried by the related Norse tribes.

Condor have now produced their own version, adopting the classic Broken back and giving it a 7in 1095 High Carbon Blade and high Scandi grind.
